Lego announces its Project Hail Mary spacecraft set, complete with Lego Ryan Gosling
This Lego Icons Project Hail Mary set is certainly cool, but is it an icon?
What’s worse than finding your spacecraft is in trouble? Having absolutely no memory of how you got there or what your mission is. That’s the challenge Ryan Gosling faces in Project Hail Mary and now Lego has revealed a set based on the upcoming sci-fi movie.
The Lego Icons 11389 Project Hail Mary set features the titular vessel, the Hail Mary, as well as a Lego minifigure of Dr. Ryland Grace, Ryan Gosling’s character, and Rocky, the alien creature that ends up assisting him.
Aside from just looking cool with its solar panels and rockets, this 30cm-tall set features a crank which lets you turn the ship on its stand, simulating its centrifugal gravity system. The stand also accomodates the Ryland Grace and Rocky figures, though there’s nothing to stop you taking them off on their own adventures.
It’s also a rather curious addition to the Lego Icons line, given that Project Hail Mary, based on novel by The Martian writer Andy Weir, isn’t out yet. Given how well The Martian movie did, and the fact that Ryan Gosling’s on board, it seems likely the movie will be a success. But we’d hesitate to call the Hail Mary iconic.
The Project Hail Mary set is made up of 830 pieces and is priced at £99.99/$99.99, rated for builders aged 18+. It ships from March 1st, but you can pre-order it now from Lego’s website.
As for the Project Hail Mary movie, it hits cinemas this March 20, 2026 and, as an Amazon MGM co-production, we’d expect it to arrive on Prime Video at some point.
