There’s a Mexican-Inspired BrickHeadz Coming Next Month

¡Dios mio! 1st August is shaping up to be a busy day for new LEGO sets. Earlier this afternoon, we had the reveal of the next Ultimate Collector’s Series Star Wars set, the gigantic Republic Gunship. This next set is a little more budget-friendly and will require much less display space, however. It’s La Catrina, a Mexican Día de los Muertos-inspired BrickHeadz figure.

Día de los Muertos – which translates into Day of the Dead – is an annual Mexican festival all about celebrating the lives of the deceased. LEGO BrickHeadz 40492 La Catrina is designed to acknowledge and celebrate that festival. The BrickHeadz has a decorated skeleton face and is dressed in a traditional Mexican dress and flowery hat. It’s colourful, and one of the most eyecatching BrickHeadz we’ve seen in some time.

If you’re a fan of Mexican culture, then this is a LEGO set you’ll want to have in your collection. Like all BrickHeadz, it comes with printed tiles; her face and costume are printed rather than stickers. And with 141 pieces, it’s the perfect quick build. We’d love to see her get a male companion; a pair of Mexican-inspired BrickHeadz would look delightful together.

La Catrina is priced at £9.99 and will be available from 1st August.
