Lego’s unveils its honeytastic Disney Winnie the Pooh set
Love Disney’s take on A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh? This Lego set could be what you need.
Want a set that’d put a smile on even Eeyore’s face? Then you’ll be happy to learn that Lego has officially unveiled its Lego Disney Winnie the Pooh set, and you get your hands on it in March.
Made up of 1,399 pieces and rated for builders aged 18+, this set, dubbed simply Winnie the Pooh, is more than meets the eye. At first glance, it’s a cool, 23cm tall semi-articulated figure of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne’s famous childrens’ character. And, as is Pooh’s habit, he’s feasting on honey, despite there literally being bees flying around the pot.
His legs appear to be fixed, presumably for stability, but his arms, ears and head move, so you can have him reaching for the honey, or ‘hunny’. You can also remove a panel on his chest which, while it seems like it’d hurt, reveals a sticker with several Winnie the Pooh characters on it.
However, the biggest secret is that his honey pot opens up into a mini-playset, a recreation of Winnie’s own home, complete with minifigures of Pooh and Eeyore. It’s a cool little touch that, despite its 18+ rating, gives this set at least some play potential.

However, despite that, its price tag pushes it out of pocket money territory. This set, Lego Disney Winnie the Pooh 43300, will cost you £139.99/$149.99. We can see adult Winnie the Pooh fans paying that, but not your average junior builder.
The good news, on that front, is that Lego has also announced a new, more pocket-friendly Winnie the Pooh set, Lego Disney Piglet’s Birthday Fun 43305, as pictured below.

This set will come with a 17 cm tall buildable Piglet and a minifigure piglet, as well as a cake which, like Pooh’s honey pot, opens up into a house, in this case Piglet’s. It’s made up of 544 pieces, is for builders aged 9 or over, and has a more reasonable £34.99/$39.99 price tag.
Both sets are available to pre-order right now from Lego’s website, and will ship from March 1st.
