Here’s a Brand New Look at LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Gameplay

LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga

First expected to release in 2020, then in spring 2021, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is now slated for a spring 2022 release.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait though, and judging by the new trailer showcased at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, it will be. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga tells the story of the nine films from the Skywalker series in traditional LEGO form, packed with the humour that developer Traveller’s Tales is known for. Unlike the previous LEGO Star Wars games, it seems characters are fully voiced, too, letting us get more immersed into the story than ever.

It looks beautiful, too. Environments are surprisingly realistic, and the juxtaposition of minifigures and LEGO blocks against a real-world setting looks stunning. We can’t wait to get lost in the world.

It’s just a shame we’ve had to wait so long for it, but the delays are ultimately down to the pandemic. It really isn’t surprising as many game developers have faced similar issues over the last 18 months.

Still, hopefully we don’t have too much longer to wait before we can get our hands on virtual minifigure versions of Luke Skywalker, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Finn, BB-8 and more.

Give the trailer a watch below.
