Ideas Spotlight: This LEGO Shadow Display Box is the Solution We All Need

LEGO Ideas Shadow Display Box jackmojo1

Today’s LEGO Ideas Spotlight is something a little different. Rather than a model, it’s a display solution for existing models. And one that’s so simple we’re astounded LEGO hasn’t already released it, frankly. We hope that this LEGO Ideas submission by jackmojo1 gets enough support to be reviewed by LEGO, because it would make an excellent addition for all LEGO fans.

So what is it? Called the LEGO Shadow Display Box, it’s a customisable solution to display minifigures and small LEGO sets. There are tonnes of expensive third-party solutions out there for display minifigures, but none are actually made out of LEGO. And since LEGO has started making wall-hanging sets itself – the LEGO Art range, for one – such a display solution makes sense.

Jackmojo1’s design shows several different colours and layout options. They’ve used it to display a series of minifigures, but also a set of Brick Headz – which, if you ask us, fit the frame just perfectly. Better yet, the frames themselves are deep enough that they act as miniature shelves, allowing additional displays to be placed on top.

Anyone who has more than a handful of LEGO sets will know what a pain adequate display space can be. And so this wall-mounted solution is an excellent one.

Uploaded just yesterday, the LEGO Shadow Display Box has 40 supporters. It’ll need another 60 in the next two months before making it to the next stage. Ultimately, it’ll need 10,000 supporters before it can be reviewed by LEGO.
