Lego has just announced an Arcade Machine, and we can’t believe how cheap it is

It’s out on 1st August, and it’ll be a day one purchase for us.

Lego 40805 Arcade Machine

Another day, another Lego announcement, and today’s new set has pleasantly surprised us. Lego 40805 Arcade Machine is coming out on 1st August, and despite having a lot of detail — which we’ll get into in a minute — it’s only going to set you back £34.99. Yeah, we can’t believe it either. We’re going to be queuing up on 1st August to add this little beauty to our basket.

Lego Arcade Machine is one of those funny sets that doesn’t belong to a theme. It’s not a Lego Icons set for some reason, instead belonging to Lego’s ‘other’ category on the website. In the store, you’ll likely find it on the same shelf as the Postcards and the Birthday Cake. It means it’s likely to be a set that’s exclusive to Lego, too.

The Arcade Machine isn’t huge, as you’d imagine from its £34.99 price tag, but it manages to pack in a lot of neat features. It’s made up of 468 pieces and from the outside, it looks like a desktop model of a classic arcade cabinet. It’s six inches tall, so not huge, but plenty big enough to make a neat statement.

Open the set up, however, and you’ll find all kinds of cool details inside. A hinge reveals a full interior, decorated like a gamer’s lair, complete with a micro arcade cabinet, a TV and console, and various game cartridges on display. There’s also a gamer minifigure too, of course.

More details can be found on Lego’s website. Unfortunately, you can’t pre-order this one, but it’ll go on sale to everyone on 1st August.
