Lego unveils a Fabuland tribute set, exclusive to Lego House

Fabuland is back, in this new tribute Lego set.

Lego Fabuland 40506 set, with a crocodile, bird, lamb and elephant playing instruments.

Remember Lego Fabuland? We don’t blame you if you don’t, because this Lego line was discontinued back in the late 80s. Not unlike the current Lego Animal Crossing sets it featured anthropomorphic animal characters who, back then, were just adorable.

The Fabuland Lego sets were aimed at younger children, a stop gap between Duplo and regular Lego. Now, over 30 years later, Lego is bringing Fabuland back with an all new Lego Fabuland Tribute 40506 set. It features characters Edward Elephant, Joe Crow, Dr Lucy Lamb and Clive Crocodile, all playing instruments in the shade of a Lego tree. Isn’t that just adorable?

That’s the vibe Lego was going for with this set, at least. But the truth is, it’s giving us a major Five Nights at Freddy’s vibe. If we had this sitting on our shelf we’d be checking every five minutes to make sure they hadn’t moved.

The set is made up of 1026 pieces and is designed for builders age 10 or over. Curiously, that’s a little higher than Fabuland’s original target market. But if you’ve got fond memories of Fabuland, or are a Lego completist, you might want to snag it.

However, there’s a catch. This is a Lego House exclusive, meaning that it’ll only be sold at the Lego House museum in Denmark. It’s priced at 649 Danish Krone, which is just over £70, but you’ll have to get to Denmark first – there’s no option to have it shipped.

This set will almost certainly end up on eBay at inflated prices, but if you’re in Denmark from March 1st, why not swing by Lego House and snag this Lego Fabuland tribute?
