This Greggs set may be the most British Lego Ideas submission of all time

Blocky Steak Bake anyone?

Lego Greggs

What’s the most British Lego set? This telephone box? Lego Tudor Corner? Lego London? Not even close. The correct answer is in fact, Lego Greggs, which will become a reality if Lego Ideas builder EthanGoodchild‘s submission is approved.

Greggs shops are a regular fixture up and down British high streets, serving up sausage rolls, pasties and other comestibles. This chain of bakeries has worked its way into British culture, and even into our lingo. A ‘Greggs dummy’, for example, is a sausage roll given to a small child to shut them up.

EthanGoodchild recognises the impact of Greggs, stating that his submission is “…a celebration of Greggs’ role in British culture, especially here in the North East, where it all began. Whether you’re a fan of their famous sausage rolls or just love a good LEGO creation, this model is a fitting tribute to a true bakery legend!”

We love the attention to detail, from the tiny menu to the coffee machine behind the counter and, based on the support this set is garnering, we’re not alone in appreciating this work of art. This Lego Ideas Greggs submission was uploaded less than a month ago but it’s already hit 600 supporters and it’s been chosen as a Lego Staff Pick

It now has 406 days to hit 1,000 supporters, and we’re pretty sure it’s going to get there. The one snag is that Lego would have to work out some kind of deal with Greggs to use their branding, but we’ve got our fingers crossed. So if you want to get your hands on a blocky Steak Bake, head over to Lego Ideas and lend this Greggs set your support.
