This Lego Ideas fire lookout tower is so accurate we can feel the isolation

There something both appealing and unsettling about fire lookout towers. On the one hand there’s something strangely relaxing about being out in the middle of nowhere, sleeping in your own little elevated building. On the other, we’ve seen several horror movies that feature fire lookout towers, which is why this Lego Ideas fire lookout tower also gives us the chills.

One of Lego’s staff picks, this Lego fire lookout tower is the work of builder TintedSlimes who states that “Fire lookout towers have been an important part of keeping our forests safe, and even if they aren’t been used now with modern technology, I thought it would make a lovely Lego set!”

They’re not wrong. This set has all the trappings you’d expect from a Lego fire lookout tower, including a map, a sink, bed and much, much more. It also features two minifigures though, from our understanding, fire watching is a solo job.

It’s not the only Lego fire lookout tower on Lego Ideas but it’s the tallest and most striking by far, and we’re blow away by the attention to detail. Right now it has 1,024 supporters, with 575 days to reach its next target of 5,000 supporters. If it hits 10,000 it’ll be reviewed by Lego and could become a real set.
