This Lego Ideas Pirate-Themed Restaurant is a work of arrrrrrt

We’d happily blow all our pieces of eight on this set.

Ever been to a pirate-themed restaurant? We haven’t, which is precisely why we need this Lego Ideas Pirate-Themed Restaurant to be a real set. Yes, Lego’s Tudor Corner set is awesome, but does it have a giant plastic shark and waiters wearing cornice hats? No, and for that reason alone, this Lego Ideas set is clearly superior.

This set, chosen as a Lego Ideas Staff Pick, is the work of builder Pablo Sanchez, aka Bricky_Brick. They’ve already had one previous piratical submission turned into a real set, the now-retired Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Though, looking at that set, it doesn’t match the magnificence of their original idea.

This new submission, simply dubbed ‘Pirate-Themed Restaurant’, is an impressive, modular rendition of the kind of novelty restaurant you might find in Blackpool, or any number of other seaside towns. Everything about this set, from the giant, gold-toothed skull entrance, to the wall-mounted ship’s wheel makes us wish we could drop in.

The set is about 12 x 12 x 12 inches, and is made up of 2757 pieces. That’s on a par with Pirates of Barracuda Bay, which is a blessing; we suspect the latter was scaled down because the number of pieces pushed it into a higher price bracket. It boasts three floors, including an apartment because who wouldn’t want to live above ‘The Old Skull’?

The set, which includes minifigures of staff and guests, is also designed to fit with other modular Lego sets. So you absolutely could put this right next to the Lego Tudor Corner set, clashing aesthetics be damned. Right now it’s sitting at around 1,400 supporters, with 587 days to hit the next target, which is 5,000 supporters. So if you’d happily buy this Lego Pirate-Themed Restaurant set, head over to Lego Ideas and lend it your support.
