This Lego Ideas Micro Command Center wins Lego’s Exploring the Cosmos competition
This Lego Ideas Micro Command Center is the winner of Lego’s Exploring the Cosmos challenge and it’s available soon.

It’s been a while, but Lego has unveiled the winner of its Lego Ideas Exploring the Cosmos competition and it’s this awesome little Lego Ideas 40786 Micro Command Center, and you’ll be able to get your hands on it surprisingly soon.
The competition took place in 2024, and builder Flying UFO came up with this micro monorail style set, in the vein of Lego’s Micro Rocket Launchpad. Both sets are a nod to the space sets of the ’80s and ’90s and while the latter is only available on eBay at the moment, the two sets would go well together.
This Lego Ideas 40786 Micro Command Center isn’t quite as elaborate as Flying UFO’s original submission, but it’s near enough and we’re eager to get our hands on it when it hits Lego’s website. It’ll be a Lego Insiders exclusive, eBay aside, and you’ll need 2000 Lego Insiders Points to redeem it.
The set is available from March 1st which, you may have noticed, is today. However, at the time of writing, it doesn’t appear to be on the site. It may be that the set will drop later in the afternoon. One seller has pre-listed the set on eBay for £59 which, given the set has just over 200 pieces, is a little optimistic.
The Lego Ideas 40786 Micro Command Center is made up of 214 pieces and is rated for builders aged 18 or over. Keep an eye on the Lego Insiders website and you may be able to snag this special little set.
