Get your hands on this magnificent Lego Ideas River Steamboat in April
Go riverboating with this Lego Ideas River Steamboat set, available from early April.

Lego’s latest Ideas set has been revealed, and it’s the undeniably awesome Lego Ideas River Steamboat 21356, a 4000+ piece model of a Mississippi steamer. Even better, you can get your hands on this awesome build in just over a month.
The Lego Ideas River Steamboat is the work of Aaron Hall/CTDPower, whose experience in computer aid design no doubt proved helpful in creating this masterpiece. He based it on the steamboats that pass his hometown and, as he explained to Lego, he actually works on a former paddle steamer.
“There’s no other ship that looks like a paddle wheel. People may not know the history, but one look at a paddle wheel and you know you are looking at something that has stood the test of time and is still making its way up and down the river,” he added.

The set is for builders aged 18+ and features 4090 pieces. There are no minifigures but the set, while a massive 69cm long and 40cm tall, is probably a tad too small for them. You can peer inside into various rooms and the set’s paddle wheel actually works, though we wouldn’t recommend trying this one out in the bath.
The set will be available to buy from Lego’s own site, priced at £289.99, and while it’ll no doubt end up on store shelves, there’s a Gift With Purchase for those who buy it direct. Which GWP? It’s a tiny ticket booth for the steamboat, though it’s likely to go fast. This Lego Ideas River Steamboat will be available from 11th April for everyone, or from April 7th to April 10th for Lego Insiders.
