Lego’s new Captain America vs. Thanos set brings us one step closer to the Thanoscopter

Forget clicking his fingers, what Thanos really needs is a Lego jet shaped like an Infinity Gauntet. Next stop, the Thanoscopter.

Lego’s new Captain America vs. Thanos set is utterly ridiculous and we need it now. Why? Because it brings us one closer step to getting an official Lego Thanoscopter. Confused? We’ll back things up a minute.

For a while, Marvel Comics was big on giving their characters vehicles. We’re not just talking about the heroes without powers, either. The comics did admit how absurd it was, but even Spider-Man got his own SpiderMobile. And Thanos, one of Marvel’s biggest villains? He had a helicopter with his name on the side.

Lego has yet to give us an official Thanoscopter. However, this new Lego Captain America vs. Thanos 76319 set absolutely channels its ridiculous spirit. As its name suggests, this set pits Thanos against Captain America, the former in a mini-quinjet. And Thanos? He’s got a jet car in the shape of the Infinity Gauntlet. No, we’re not making this up. Just take a look – it’s magnificent.

Going by the ram mounted on the front, his strategy is to slam his vehicle into Captain America’s own. We’re beginning to see just why Squirrel Girl beat Thanos. It’s amazingly, gloriously silly and we love it.

It’s obvious this set is designed with play in mind; it’s made up of 107 pieces and is aimed at children age 4 or over. However, would-be Avengers will have to wait a little while to re-enact this epic conflict. This Lego Marvel Captain America vs Thanos 76319 set isn’t out till August 1st when it’ll be available from the official Lego site priced at £29.99.
