Lego turns Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas into a goth builder’s delight
This is Legoween!
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is getting its own Lego set, and it’s all thanks to one enterprising builder who submitted their gloomy, gothy build to Lego Ideas.
Lego Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is based on Tvrulesmylife Lego Ideas set, which they posted back in July 2022. It hit 10,000 supporters within three months and was reviewed and approved in February 2023. And now, two years after he came up with the ideas, Tvrulesmylife’s set has become a reality.
The actual Lego set is less complex and more modular than the original Lego Ideas submission but it’s still an awesome-looking set, especially if you’re a fan of Burton’s musical movie. It features Jack Skellington’s house, Halloween Town city hall and Spiral Hill, and a whole host of minifigures.
How many? There are eight minifigs in all, Jack Skellington, Sally, Santa Clause, Lock, Shock and Barrel minifigures, Zero the dog and The Mayor. The set’s made up of 2193 pieces and while it’s rated for builders aged 18+, it looks if there’s some play value. For a start, you can peek in Jack Skellington’s house and see what nefarious Christmas-stealing schemes he’s up to.
The set is priced at £169.99, which may seem a tad pricey, but Lego Ideas sets do tend to command a premium over comparable non-Ideas sets. And given how popular the movie is, and how much merchandise it’s shifted, this Lego Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is bound to sell.
Lego isn’t taking pre-orders but it’ll be available to purchase from September 6th. Now, if they’d only get working on that Lego Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd set….
