Lego’s biggest Pokémon set is already on back order
Lego’s Pokemon sets are officially here but you’re going to have to wait to get your hands on the biggest.
Were you looking forward to catching Lego’s new Pokémon sets, which launched yesterday? Then we’ve got good news and bad news news for you. While the smaller Pikachu and Poké Ball and Eviee sets are still available, the prize of Lego’s new range is on back order.
That’s the Lego Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set, a 6,838-piece build priced at £579.99/$649.99. We were blown away by how awesome this set looked but felt its price tag was a little hefty. However, that hasn’t stopped adult fans (all the range is geared towards and rated for adults) from snapping up the set, which currently has this Kanto Region Badge Collection as a gift with purchase.
Unfortunately, it’s on back order till March 23rd in the UK, and around April 27th in the US! Still, at least those who got their hands on it must be happy, right? Yes, but maybe for the wrong reasons, some some of these sets have ended up the hands of eBay scalpers.

Lego has wisely imposed a 1-set limit on the set, which is only available through Lego.com and official Lego stores, but there are multiple sets on eBay, going for silly prices. We’ve seen the Lego Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise listed for over $1,000, $350 more than its RRP.
No-one would pay that kind of money, right? Surprisingly, going by eBay’s sold listings, some have. Some of these sky-high listings have sold, including pre-order listings where the seller didn’t at the time, have the item in their hands.
We have our fingers crossed that Lego can catch up with demand, so you’ll be able to get the Lego Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set at a more reasonable price. In the meantime, if you’re craving build-your-own-Pokémon merch, Pokémon Mega Blocks are still available for now.
