Save a massive £90 on this Lego Icons Atari 2600
Want to save big on an awesome-looking retro-themed Lego Ideas set? UK retailer Zavvi is selling the Lego Icons Atari 2600 set for £119.99, down from £209.99. The official Lego store is still selling it at full price, so this is bargain if your tastes run to retro-gaming.
This set is more or less 1:1 scale with a real Atari 2600 gaming console. Though since the original machine launched nearly 50 years ago, this is close as you’re likely to get to a ‘new’ one.
Made up of 2,532, the set is designed for adult builders. Our only gripe, looking at the set, is that it comes with just one joystick. But it does come with Lego replicas of actual 2600 cartridges (Centipede, Asteroids and Adventure) each with its own little diorama.
There was, as we reported last year, a Lego Atari 2600 submitted to Lego’s Ideas site. However, the two apparently aren’t related. According to Lego, the Lego Icons Atari 2600 was developed “was developed independently of LEGO Ideas submissions.”
