The Lego Walt Disney Tribute Camera looks to be a must-have for movie fans
Out on 1st September, the Lego Walt Disney Tribute Camera is a beautiful set for both Disney fans and movie lovers alike.
Out on 1st September, the Lego 43230 Walt Disney Tribute Camera is a bit of a departure from Lego’s typical Disney sets. It doesn’t celebrate a particular character or franchise from Walt Disney’s catalogue. Rather, it celebrates the founder of the company – Walt Disney himself.
Made up of 811 pieces, the set allows you to build an old-fashioned film camera, along with a small podium where you’ll find a minifigure of Walt Disney and some of his creatures. There are monochrome minifigures of Minnie and Mickey, along with figures of Bambi and Dumbo – two of the earliest characters to arrive under the Disney umbrella.
There are some very neat features hidden within the camera. There’s a hinged panel, with space for Walt to sit and examine his stills. And the matte box of the camera can slide backwards and forwards to reveal the lenses. You’ll also find something very unique for a Lego set: a printed film strip, showing stills from 20 Disney movies from across the years.
While this is a celebration of Disney, then – being released as part of Disney’s 100th anniversary celebrations – it’s also going to appeal to film fans in general. It’s a homage to filmmaking as an art over the last century, and it’s going to look great on any movie lover’s shelf.
Lego Walt Disney Tribute Camera will be available from 1st September, priced at £89.99. Pre-orders are open now on LEGO.com.
