This Lego X-Men: The X-Mansion set looks so awesome we can hear the theme tune
To me, my Lego X-Men!
Lego has announced a huge new Marvel set and it’s absolutely awesome. Granted, a lot of Lego’s Marvel-based sets are, from Dr Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum to the Avengers Tower. But what makes this Lego X-Men: The X-Mansion set so tempting is that it’s based on the 90s X-Men series and its Disney Plus sequel.
Coming next month, this Lego X-Mansion set nails the look of the show; even before we looked at the individual minifigures, the giant purple Sentinel and Professor X’s distinctive yellow chair told us what era the set was celebrating.
The mansion conceals labs and other rooms, providing a home for the ten minifigures in the set. The included X-Men (and one former enemy) are: Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, Storm, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Iceman, Bishop, Jean Grey.
There’s some play potential here, not least because the rooms are modular, and Lego’s images make it look suitably dynamic. But the set will require an adult to build; priced at £289.99 it’s made up of 3,093 pieces and is rated for builders aged 18+ or more. It’s a 40cm and 27cm wide which, while not Avengers Tower massive, still makes it pretty sizeable.
Despite its nearly £300 price tag, as huge fans of the original show we’re seriously tempted to pick this up. However, we’ll have to wait a little while, since there’s no pre-order option. The Lego X-Mansion opens its doors this November 4th 2024, when it should start appearing on store shelves. If you’re a Lego Insider, though, it’ll be available a couple of days early from Nov 1st to Nov 3rd.
But that’s not all. There’s also an X-Men themed Gift With Purchase, a Lego X-Men Cerebro set. This features a Professor X minifigure (so you’ll have two) and Cerebro, the decide he uses to amplify his powers. It’ll be available untill Nov 7th, or “while supplies last”. Sometimes these GWP offers go before even non-Insiders get a chance to snag them.
So, if you want to get your hands on both, we recommend signing up for Lego’s free Insiders programme, if you’re not already one, and then getting the Lego X-Men X-Mansion set from Lego’s site the moment orders open this Nov 1st.
