You can buy Love from Lego this January

A brick-built model of Robert Indiana’s ‘Love’ will be available in the new year.

The saying goes that you can’t buy love, but from this January you can. Well, Love made out of Lego, at least. Robert Indiana’s famous ‘Love’ sculpture to be precise.

Coming on 1st January, Love is the latest set to come to Lego’s Art range. It’s made up of 791 pieces and spells out the word ‘Love’ stacked in red letters. We think there’s a very good chance you’ve seen this famous sculpture before. Even if you haven’t, it’s an eye-catching piece, and we’re looking forward to having it displayed on our shelves.

Judging by Lego’s lifestyle shots, each letter of ‘Love’ will be built mostly separately. They’ll then be constructed at the end, with the L and the O stacked on top of the V and the E. Spell out ‘Vole’ instead if you want. Or wait a while: we’ve no doubt some enterprising Lego fan will figure out how to rearrange the bricks to spell out some other choice four-letter words.

While ‘Love’ is iconically red from the front, the inner sides of the letters are blue and green, giving a neat shadow effect.

It’s safe to say that Lego Art Love isn’t a playset: this is a display piece through and through. It’s no surprise, then, that it’s being marketed as an 18+ set. When it hits shelves on 1st January 2025, it’ll be available for £69.99. It’s a little pricey for a 791-piece set, we’ll admit, but given the set’s dimensions (25x25cm), it’s a reasonable price for a decent-sized piece of art.

Find out more about Love on the Lego website, where you can also pre-order it ahead of its January release date. We’ll certainly be picking this up in the new year – what about you? Let us know what you think about Love in the comments below.
