This Lego Ideas Day of the Dead La Catrina is a truly breathtaking build
This Lego Ideas Day of the Dead set needs to get made.

Looking for a Lego build that’ll instantly draw the attention of any and all visitors? This Lego Ideas Day of the Dead La Catrina set could be just what you need and it’s well on course to hitting the 10,000 votes it needs to be reviewed by Lego.
La Calvera Catrina, or just La Catrina is an iconic, skeletal character which was created by printmaker José Guadalupe Posada. La Catrina has become an integral part of Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations and now, builder yop1172 has brought her to life as a towering 90cm tall Lego Ideas sculpture.
“Drawing inspiration from the revered clay sculptures produced by esteemed Mexican artisans, this LEGO Catrina seamlessly channels the spirit of an authentic sculpture rather than a mere costume,” this Lego Ideas submission’s page explains.
This set is amazingly striking, with not a sticker in sight, but it’s not just a static model. You can pose La Catrina, moving her head, arms, fingers and so on. Want to put a Lego rose in her hand? Go right ahead. You can also remove her sombrero and adjust her skirt. It’s up to you.
We can’t imagine how much work must have gone into this set. It’s made up of just 2,894 pieces, which, is surprising given how tall she is. Our one fear is that she’d be easy to knock over, so if this does become a real set, and we seriously hope it does, we’d recommend putting her well out of reach of any children or pets.
