This Lego Ideas fairground actually works and it needs to get made
All the fun of the fair, in brick form.

Lego has put together a few rollercoaster sets over the years but never a full-on Lego funfair. That’s where this Lego Ideas Working Modular Fairground set comes in, shoehorning in a free fall ride, a carousel, a ferris wheel and more. Even better, it actually works and we’re starting to wish we were minifigure-sized so we could explore it.
The set is the work of builder Baron von Barron, who’s a member of the 10K club. This means that their sets have reached the 10,000 votes necessary to be reviewed by Lego, though they’ve yet to have one actually become a real set. Could this be the set that makes it? We certainly hope so.
It’s certainly doing well so far; it’s at 7,391 supporters votes with 686 days to go, and has been chosen as a Lego Staff Pick. It’s made up of 3,000 parts and comes with 11 figures, stallholders included. It’s made up of the following rides and stalls:
- Ferris wheel with six cabins
- Free fall tower with four seats and attached electric cabinet
- Carousel with four riding animals
- Cotton candy bike
- Can throwing booth with two throwing areas and attached power generator
It’s the kind of fairground that, in real life, can be packed into a few trucks and when the fair’s over, drives off to some other locale. It looks absolutely awesome, and it’s not just the ferris wheel that works. Each ride or attraction can be activated separately. We’ve got our fingers that it’ll be gracing store shelves in a couple of years.
