Lego has confirmed that paper instruction books are here to stay
Thank goodness for that!
Earlier this week, a new survey appeared on the Lego Insiders hub. Titled “Sustainable Building: Help us decide the future of LEGO Building Instructions!”, it gave Insiders 50 points for answering some questions about their thoughts on physical instruction manuals versus digital. Needless to say, it had many fans thinking that Lego was planning on phasing out paper instructions — and that didn’t go well at all.
The survey is now nowhere to be seen in the Lego Insiders hub, but it seems Lego has heard the outcry. As we’ve seen via Brickset, it has shared a statement confirming in no uncertain terms that paper instructions are not going anywhere.
“We would like to reassure fans that we have no plans to stop using physical building instructions in our products,” the statement reads. “We conducted this survey to understand more about our adult fans’ preferences regarding our products and building experience, something we do regularly across a range of topics.”
If you were hoping to bag the 50 points for completing the survey — sorry, you’ve missed your chance. But it’s good news that Lego has heard its fans loud and clear. While digital instructions do exist if you prefer them, physical books won’t be going anywhere. We’re certainly pleased about that.
