They’re a while off, but we’re officially getting Lego Pokémon sets.

If you’re a Pokémon fan you’ll be thrilled to hear that Lego has teamed up with The Pokemon Company to produce official Lego Pokémon sets, starting next year. Even if you’re not a fan, you have to admit that this collaboration is going to be an amazing money-spinner for both companies.

Lego hasn’t revealed just what’s on the way and so far, none of the upcoming sets have leaked, probably because they’re not due until 2026. But we know from Lego’s announcement that we’re getting multiple sets, and fan-favourite Pikachu is getting a look in.

Our prediction is that Lego will take the same tack as with their Mario Kart sets. We’ll get several smaller sets, featuring Pokémon and the odd trainer or two, plus at least one major display-not-play sets. Our money’s on a giant Pikachu model.

But.. hang on, can’t you already get Pokémon building block sets? The answer is yes, you can. It’s not clear precisely when the partnership ends, or ended, but Mega has been putting out official Pokémon sets for some time. Those sets are currently still available, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they started going for silly prices when Lego takes over.

Lego’s Pokémon sets are set for a 2026 release, and we’d expect Lego to reveal more about them towards the tail end of this year.
