Lego unveils a gorgeously Gallic Lego Ideas French Cafe set
Coming this March, this Lego Ideas French Cafe set nails the look of a traditional Paris cafe.
Ever wanted to take a trip to France and sip coffee in some Parisian café? Then Lego’s new Lego French Cafe set is for you. Granted, it’s not a perfect substitute, but it looks set to capture the feel of Paris’s many charming cafés.
This Lego Icons French Cafe 10362 set shows the exterior of the ‘Café Fleur’, complete with outside tables, a streetlight, noticeboard and more. Recommended for builders aged 18 or over, it’s made up of 1101 pieces and is priced at a not unreasonable £69.99. From the outside, it’s a seriously eye-catching set, particularly if you’re a Francophile.
And from the inside? Unfortunately, the Café Fleur is closed to visitors. Sure, you can peek through the doors and see the inside of the cafe, but there appears to be no usable interior. The images Lego has released don’t show the back of the set, so we’re assuming that side is meant to remain hidden. Given the Lego Icons French Cafe 10362 set’s price point, we can live with that.
What’s more surprising is that there are no minfigures with this set. Given how absolutely gorgeous the café looks, it’s just begging for customers, either locals or tourists. Lego has previously put out some French-themed figures including the ridiculously stereotypical French Connoisseur. Granted, his comically oversized baguette might not fit through the door, but it’d help lend this set a little life.

Minifigure gripes aside, this is a seriously appealing set and you don’t have to wait all that long to get your hands on it. You can’t pre-order it, but the Lego Icons French Cafe 10362 set will be available from Lego this March 1st.
