Lego’s just revealed the next huge Ninjago set, Ninjago City Workshops
It’s the fifth set in the range, and it’s out on 1st March.

If you’re a fan of Lego’s Ninjago City range of sets, you might want to put 1st March on your calendar (and earmark £220 from your wallet). Ninjago City Workshops, out next month, is the next set in Lego’s epic and colourful range, and we can’t wait to get our mitts on it.
Ninjago City Workshops is the fifth set in the range, following on from Ninjago City, Ninjago City Docks, Ninjago City Gardens and Ninjago City Markets. While the first set was released as a Ninjago Movie set, the rest that followed have been based on the Ninjago TV series. This particular one is based on season three of Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
But you don’t have to be a Ninjago fan to enjoy these Lego sets. All five can be combined to build a giant city, and it’s their unique architecture — a blend of futuristic and classic Asian design — that really makes them stand out. Every set so far has had a unique element that has drawn us to the set: for the Ninjago City Markets set it was the monorail car, for example, while Ninjago City Markets’ tall and odd-shaped tower was its focal point.

With Ninjago City Workshops, that unique feature is a mech. It’s the first Ninjago City set to come with a giant mech, one that has been assembled within the Workshops themselves. There’s also a working crane on top of the building and, like the other sets, there are numerous interior areas to explore too.

Retailing for £219.99, Ninjago City Workshops is still an expensive set but it’s one of the cheaper in the range. In comparison, Ninjago City Markets is a whole £100 more expensive at £319.99. Naturally, it’s also substantially smaller: while City Markets is made up of a whopping 6,163 pieces, Workshops is ‘just’ 3,244 pieces.

It comes with 10 minifigures, and within the set you’ll find apartments, stores and restaurants. The mech can also be detached from the set to play with separately, and it can be customised with various pieces of armor.
