This award-winning Stardew Valley Lego model took two years to build
There’s dedication, and then there’s dedication.
We’ve seen some big builds over the years, but we tip our hats at the sheer dedication that’s gone into this magnificent Stardew Valley Lego creation. We’d call it a set, but that doesn’t begin to do it justice.
If you’ve not played Stardew Valley, it’s a cozy farming/life-sim with a massive, massive following. But, up until now, it’s mainly existed digitally. But Lego builder Steve Jensen has brought Stardew Valley into the world of Lego. What’s more, he netted both an award and the attention of the game’s creator.
As spotted by PC Gamer, Jensen spent two years building a massive Lego version of the game’s farm and village. He brought it to BrickCon 2024, thankfully not dropping it, and showed it off to all assembled. According to Lego streamer Beyond the Brick, this Lego Stardew Valley features a massive 75,000 bricks, which is no small feat. The sheer attention to detail is mind-blowing.
It’s well worth watching Beyond the Brick’s video, which features an interview with Jensen. He talks about the sheer amount of work that went into this model, as well as the tips and tricks he employed. One of the toughest thing, according to Jensen, was having the buildings and areas at different heights. As in the game, the village isn’t one flat plateau, it’s on multiple levels. It looks cool in-game, but it caused Jensen some real brain-scratching.
Jensen has been documenting his progress over on the official Stardew Valley Forums. Understandably, there’s been a lot of praise for the build, which won BrickCon 2024’s People’s Choice award. But it also earned him a surprise thumbs-up from ConcernedApe, the game’s creator, who was at the convention.
We doubt this’ll be coming to Lego Ideas any time soon, and we’d have to remortgage if it did. But you can find more snaps of this magnificent model on Jensen’s Instagram.
