Three Lego Pokémon sets have been announced
Three new Lego Pokémon sets have been announced for release in February, with pre-orders going live today.
We’ve had Lego sets based on Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing, so it was only a matter of time before Pokémon entered the fray. Today, The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company have unveiled a trio of new sets featuring Pikachu, Charizard, Evee, and more. And as you’d expect, they cover a range of price points so you can get involved no matter how much you’re prepared to spend.
The first of the three new Lego Pokémon sets that have been announced is a brick-built version of Evee. This is the smallest and cheapest of the trio, consisting of just 587 pieces and measuring over 7.5 inches tall. Features include a movable head, tail and limbs, making it suitable for display or as a toy. And priced at £54.99/$59.99, it’s the most accessible to fans of all ages.

The next set is a bit of a step up from Evee, being a fantastic recreation of the iconic Pikachu along with a Pokéball. Complete with a stand, this one’s more of a display piece than a toy, consisting of 2,050 pieces and measuring over 13.6 inches tall. Needless to say, it has a much higher price, too; you’ll need to part with £179.99/$199.99 to own it. Despite the stand, Pikachu will be posable to an extent, with players able to display him leaping from an open ball in a battle stance, or sat next to a closed ball.

A set featuring three Pokémon is perhaps unsurprisingly the most expensive of those which have been announced. Lego Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise features… you guessed it – Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. What’s stands out about this set is that all three Pokémon can be built and displayed individually, which each model featuring its own unique articulation. To really impress, however, the three Pokémon should be displayed via the included base, which depicts numerous biomes. It’s a very impressive set indeed, though it comes at a hefty price. For this 6,838-piece behemoth you’re going to have to hand Lego £579.99/$649.99.

All three Lego Pokémon sets are available to pre-order via the Lego website right now, with a release date set for 27th February. Inexplicably, they’re all 18+ sets, despite Pokémon typically being aimed at younger gamers – it would have made sense for the Evee set to have a lower age rating at least.
As an incentive to pick up the fancy Lego Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set, a gift with purchase will be available while stocks last. The Kanto Region Badge Collection will consist of eight badges and a storage box, altogether made up of a total of 312 bricks, and will supposedly be available until 8th March if stocks don’t run dry.
Finally, LEGO Insider members with points to spare will also be able to get in on the Pokémon action. A Mini Pokémon Center, inspired by different versions of the Pokémon Center featured in various games, will be available for 2,500 Insider points from 27th February while stocks last. Of course, you’ll need to place an order to receive it once you’ve obtained and redeemed your code.
