1. Disney Ideas The Nightmare Before Christmas
- RRP: £169.99
- Number of pieces: 2,193
- Number of minifigures: 6
- Age rating: 18+
This is Halloween! Is there anything that screams “Halloween” more than Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas? And this Lego Ideas set, released just a couple of months ago, perfectly captures the movie. It features Jack and Sally minifigures, Spiral Hill, Jack Skellington’s house and the Halloweentown Town Hall.
2. Lego Halloween Barn
- RRP: £12.99
- Number of pieces: 205
- Age rating: 8+
This pocket money-friendly Halloween set is one of our favourites. The two-dimensional barn hides a giant monster behind its window and door, and opening them up will reveal scary teeth and a giant, staring eye. The skeleton and bat included with the set help set the spooky scene even more.
3. Lego Wednesday Addams Figure
- RRP: £44.99
- Number of pieces: 702
- Age rating: 10+
Brand new and released on 1st October, we love this Lego Wednesday set. It’s one of three new sets in the range, and it’s perhaps our favourite. Although it doesn’t come with any minifigures, it allows you to build a very Halloween-appropriate model of Wednesday Addams. She can be dressed in two different outfits: a ball gown and a school uniform. Both are black, black, black of course. The set’s also decorated with spooky accessories, like gravestones, candles and black flowers.
4. Disney Ideas Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage
- RRP: £199.99
- Number of pieces: 2,316
- Number of minifigures: 6
- Age rating: 18+
It came out last year, but we’re very glad it’s still around this Halloween. The Sanderson Sisters’ cottage from Hocus Pocus is one of our favourite Lego Ideas sets. This medieval-style building looks absolutely fantastic by itself or as part of a village, but it’s the spooky touches that really finish it off. The pumpkins, the witchy hats and broomsticks, and all the cool details inside the house. If you’re a Hocus Pocus fan, you’ll love it, but even if you’re not there’s plenty to appreciate here.
5. Lego Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat
- RRP: £89.99
- Number of pieces: 561
- Number of minifigures: 1
- Age rating: 18+
We don’t usually think Lego Harry Potter sets are particularly Halloween-y. But the Sorting Hat, which looks just like a witch’s hat, is the perfect display piece for spooky season. Its grumpy face is just wonderful — and the fact it talks is an absolute bonus. Tip the top of the hat (or lift it up above your head) and it’ll say one of 31 randomised phrases. We guess that means you might end up in Slytherin. Ick.
6. Lego Super Mario King Boo’s Haunted Mansion
- RRP: £64.99
- Number of pieces: 932
- Age rating: 8+
Here’s one for Mario and Nintendo fans. While this set is technically an interactive expansion for the Lego Super Mario system, we think it works brilliantly as a standalone piece. The castle looks rather foreboding, what with its large doors and medieval-style brickwork. But it’s the giant King Boo build that really sets it off. Add to that the spiders, pumpkins and Dry Bones build, and you’ve got a fantastic Lego set for Halloween.
7. Lego Harry Potter Aragog in the Forbidden Forest
- RRP: £17.99
- Number of pieces: 195
- Number of minifigures: 2
- Age rating: 7+
Last but not least, we have another Lego Harry Potter set that we think is perfect for Halloween. This budget set allows you to build a very freaky model of Aragog, the giant spider who lives in the Forbidden Forest. And what’s scarier on Halloween than a big eight-legged, eight-eyed spider? It also comes with miniature spiders and minifigures of Harry and Ron.
