The best new Lego sets out in January 2025
It’s a very good month to be a Lego lover.
Happy new year, everyone! A new year means a whole load of new Lego sets and, as is the way every year, January 2025 has brought with it a huge amount of new Lego sets. Sure, there’s a wealth of new City sets, Friends sets, Ninjago sets and others aimed at kids, but there are also plenty aimed at us grown-ups too. There are too many to go through them all in detail, but we’ve picked out the new January sets that we’re most excited about.
You can browse all of the new sets on Lego’s website. But keep scrolling down to see our picks of January’s best. Which of these sets do you want to add to your collection (or maybe you already have!)? Let us know by leaving us a comment below.
Lego Icons Tudor Corner
- RRP: £199.99
- Number of pieces: 3,266
- Number of minifigures: 8
- Age rating: 18+
We look forward to Lego’s Modular release every year, and 2025’s offering, the Tudor Corner, might be one of our favourites yet. The architectural design of the building is absolutely beautiful: we can imagine seeing it nestled on a busy London street. It houses a restaurant, a haberdashery store and a clockmaker’s workshop, and there’s a snug attic flat at the top of it all.
As always, every part of the interior is packed with gorgeous details, and we simply cannot wait to build this one. You can read more about Tudor Corner here.
Lego Harry Potter Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops
- RRP: £169.99
- Number of pieces: 2,750
- Number of minifigures: 12 microfigures
- Age rating: 18+
We’ve already had a huge model of Diagon Alley before, but this one is slightly different. Whereas the previous Diagon Alley featured just four buildings, all minifigure scale, this new Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops set features all the buildings. It’s of course not minifigure scale this time (it would be far too big otherwise) but we don’t think that matters.
There’s plenty of detail squeezed into a small scale here, and we love how the street can be displayed in a number of ways. You can put it all in a horizontal row, or you can bring the two sides of the street together to make what looks like a great little book nook. Read more about Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops here.
Lego Icons Fountain Garden
- RRP: £89.99
- Number of pieces: 1,302
- Age rating: 18+
The Fountain Garden set is the start of a new sub-theme for Lego: Gardens of the World. This Mediterranean-inspired garden features a central fountain decorated with beautiful walkways and numerous flowers, trees and shrubbery. We can imagine walking through a similar garden while the sun shines down on us, warming our skin. Bliss.
Being a decorative piece rather than a playset, you won’t find any minifigures here, which is quite a shame as it feels minifigure-scale. You can certainly add your own and they wouldn’t look out of place. You do get small animal figures, though: you’ll find a moth, a frog and a bird to hide within the garden. Lego Star Wars Grogu With Hover Pram
- RRP: £89.99
- Number of pieces: 1,048
- Number of minifigures: 1
- Age rating: 10+
We’ve had a model of Grogu (aka Baby Yoda, aka The Child) before, but not quite like this. While the focus is still on Grogu himself, this one also comes with his Hover Pram, making it seem like a much bigger, more complex build. It’s still aimed at children, though, with an age rating of 10+ on it. But we somehow thing adults are going to gravitate towards this one in their droves.
We already love Grogu and this model of him looks absolutely adorable. The Pram comes on a stand, making it easy to display and, like a mini UCS set, it comes with a display plaque, providing information about Grogu and the set. Finishing it off is a minifigure of Grogu for display purposes.
Lego Art Love
- RRP: £69.99
- Number of pieces: 791
- Age rating: 18+
You’ve probably seen the famous ‘Love’ art installation before, and now you can have it in your own home. Part of Lego’s Art range, this small but mighty model will fit on any shelf or mantel, and we think it looks absolutely beautiful.
It might not be the most interesting build, thanks to its sea of red, green and blue bricks, but it doesn’t matter. This is a striking piece of real-world art that’s been wonderfully recreated out of Lego bricks, making it the sort of thing that even the most Lego-sceptical people would be proud to have on display. Lego Sweetheart Tweety Bird
- RRP: £29.99
- Number of pieces: 412
- Age rating: 12+
Lego Sweetheart Tweety Bird is a little bit of a weird one. It’s not a BrickHeadz, nor is it part of any of Lego’s core ranges. But it is a gorgeous little set, released ahead of Valentine’s Day. Costing just £29.99, it’s a nice budget-friendly set that’s not going to break the bank, and if you are a Looney Tunes fan, we’ve no doubt you’re going to want to get your hands on it.
This isn’t just any regular Tweety Bird; it’s a Cupid Tweety Bird. It comes complete with wings and a bow and arrow, ready to send out love into the world. It’s just a shame there’s no Sylvester to sit alongside it. (Yet, at least.)
Lego Lucky Cat
- RRP: £24.99
- Number of pieces: 280
- Age rating: 9+
The Lego Lucky Cat must be popular because it’s only 2nd January and it’s already sold out. If you want to buy this on Lego.com, you’ll have to wait a while since it’s on back order. We’re not surprised, though: this Lucky Cat is absolutely wonderful and it’s a true celebration of Chinese culture for the Chinese New Year.
Like a real Lucky Cat model, its paw moves up and down in a waving motion. Its facial expression looks every bit the part too: a happy, chonky cat. It’s not the biggest model, measuring just 11cm tall, but if you’re short on space it’s perfect. It’s going to look great on our desk, that’s for sure. Lego Creator 3-in-1 Medieval Dragon
- RRP: £54.99
- Number of pieces: 715
- Age rating: 9+
Lego has put out some great Creator 3-in-1 sets in recent years, but this Medieval Dragon might be one of our favourites. Probably just because it’s a dragon — who doesn’t love a dragon? Unlike other dragons we’ve seen in the likes of Ninjago sets, this one has fully brick-built wings rather than fabric wings, and they look absolutely wonderful.
Since it’s a 3-in-1 set, you can build more than just the dragon if you so wish. Rearrange the pieces and you can also construct a phoenix or a sea serpent. All three look rather wonderful, actually, so if you ever catch this set at a discount, it might be worth picking up more than one so you can build multiple models at once.
