The Epic £430 LEGO Hogwarts Express is Available From Today

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 76405

Fans of Harry Potter with money to burn are in for a treat today: the epic LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition is now available. This is one seriously impressive set, but it comes with a seriously impressive price tag, too: £429.99. Excuse us while we mop our brow.

Yes, it’s a lot of money, but this is a lot of LEGO. It’s made up of 5,129 pieces, and from end to end, the set measures a whopping 118cm. And you thought Diagon Alley was long at just over a metre. Needless to say, you should only consider buying this set if you’ve got some serious shelf space spare. And £430 with nothing better to spend it on, of course.

The set features a realistic recreation of the Hogwarts Express steam train, complete with engine, carriage and coal tender. While this isn’t a motorised train (it’s not even compatible with standard LEGO tracks) it does come with light bricks and lever-operated motions.

There’s also a small cutaway section of Platform 9 3/4, making the full display something to behold. And to decorate it, there are no less than 20 minifigures. A few different versions of Harry, Ron and Hermione are in there, covering various stages of their life at Hogwarts. There’s also a grown-up Harry for the first time, along with his own children.

It’s a gorgeous set, granted. But it’s also expensive. And perhaps unnecessarily huge. Will you be adding this to your collection? Let us know in the comments below.
