These Lego Super Mario sets are retiring soon

LEGO Super Mario Set 71409

If you’re a Lego Super Mario completist you’d better move fast, because Lego has announced that several sets are on on their way out. Five Lego Super Mario sets are being retired and once they’ve left retail circulation, you can expect them to start going for silly prices on eBay.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that four out of the five sets have been discounted on the official Lego store, meaning you can save a few gold coins off their regular price. And the base Luigi and Mario starter sets are not amongst those being retired. Lego isn’t suddenly waving farewell to the whole line.

Like the recently released Lego Sonic the Hedgehog sets, these sets are designed so that they can be combined. So if you want to build the ultimate Lego Super Mario course, it’s a smart idea to snap these up before they’re gone.

Lego hasn’t announced precisely when these sets will be retired, other than its your ‘last chance’ to get them. As with other previously retired sets, it’s likely to be a case of when they’re gone they’re gone. Here are all the sets in question, along with their (mostly) discounted prices.

Cat Peach Suit and Frozen Tower Expansion Set 71407£41.99 (was £59.99)
