You can buy instructions to build this excellent Lego Red Dwarf set

Lego Red Dwarf

What we wouldn’t give for a Lego Red Dwarf set. The 90s British comedy is perhaps a little too obscure for Lego to ever release an official set, however, so the closest we’re probably ever going to get is this custom MOC from Bob’s Vintage Bricks. And honestly, when it looks this awesome, it’s good enough.

Bob’s Vintage Bricks is a long-time Lego creator and has had two of their Lego Ideas submissions reach the coveted 10,000 votes – both Red Dwarf related. And while neither made the cut at the review stage, it hasn’t stopped them making Red Dwarf Lego a reality for fans. The instructions for the Red Dwarf sleeping quarters, Blue Midget and Scutter can be purchased from eBay, priced at £14.99.

You’ll of course have to source your own pieces if you wish to build the Red Dwarf models. While many of the pieces will be easy to purchase from Lego directly or Bricklink, the eBay listing does stress that some parts are rare – and a couple even have to be modified.

To complete the set, you’ll also want to get your hands on the minifigures as pictured, along with some custom printed bricks. Custom minifigure company Minifig.me has come to the rescue, selling everything you need to complete you Lego Red Dwarf diorama – but it’s not going to come cheap.

Still, this is something rather special, and it’s rare a Lego Ideas designer makes their instructions available to the public. If you’re desperate for a Lego Red Dwarf set, this is undoubtedly the only way you’re going to get it – and we must admit, we’re sorely tempted to.
