Have a Lego Christmas with these new Nutcracker and Gingerbread sets

Lego Nutcracker 40640

Lego is rolling out the Christmas reveals and, alongside this year’s Lego Advent Calendars, they’ve also revealed two addition sets. The Lego Nutcracker set is a block-based version of the famous wooden soldier nutcracker, which has been going since the 1870s.

And the Lego Gingerbread Ornament set is, as the name suggests, a collection of Lego Gingerbread toys that you can hang on your tree, three in total. Both sets will cost £10.99 each and be available to purchase from September 1st. Let’s see just what’s on offer.

LEGO Nutcracker 40640

  • RRP £10.99
  • 208 pieces
  • Age 8+

Six inches tall when assembled, the Lego Nutcracker can be built as male or a female soldier. Going by the listing on Lego’s website, changing them up doesn’t involve too much work, just swapping the eyes and removing the moustache. It even has a lever in the back so you can open and close its jaws.

Will it crack actual nuts? We very much doubt it and it seems likely the instructions will contain some kind of warning against it. but that’s not going to stop people from trying. We have the sneaking suspicion we’ve just uncovered this Christmas’s new TikTok trend.

LEGO Gingerbread Ornaments 40642

  • RRP £10.99
  • 190 pieces
  • Age 6+

As cool as these look on the box, the most appealing thing about Lego’s Gingerbread Ornaments set is that you can customise them, as you can with real gingerbread figures. Okay, you can’t eat these ornaments, which is a bit of a downside. But we can see these offering an hour or three of child-muting entertainment as the little ones add their own personal touches.

Each set costs £10.99 and will be available from September 1st, via the official Lego website. Be quick, though, we can see these Lego Christmas sets selling fast.
