Lego Animal Crossing is real and we can’t wait

LEGO Animal Crossing

Nintendo has confirmed that the much rumoured Lego Animal Crossing sets are happening, with a teaser that features Isabelle, Tom Nook and the other villagers as minifigs.

And if that was all there was to it, we’d be fine. We’d be happy to spend silly money on bag after blind bag of Animal Crossing minifigures, in hope of getting Doom Eternal Isabelle.

But if those rumours are correct there are sets on the way too. There’s no way Lego would team up with Nintendo and not give us a set or seven. We’ve got our fingers crossed for Blathers’ Museum, Nooks Cranny, the Town Hall and more.

As far as price goes, it’s just a guesstimate but we’d imagine they’d retail at between £29.99 and £79.99. Yes, there are adults who’ll buy these. But they’re so damn cute we can see builders of all ages.

We’ll have to wait just a little longer to find out precisely what Nintendo and Lego have planned. We’d expect a full announcement over the next couple of weeks, with the sets arriving by Christmas. Let’s hope the scalpers don’t get involved.

In the meantime, you can check out the teaser video above and keep an eye on Lego’s (currently sparse) Lego Animal Crossing landing page.

After relegating my Lego to the loft, many years ago, I've regained my interest in these plastics bricks, partly because today's sets seem so, so much cooler than when I was a kid. Though I'm still reluctant to spend three figures on a single set.
