LEGO Has Adjusted the RRP of Over 150 Sets

As of 1st January 2022, LEGO has changed the RRP of 165 products. That doesn’t mean they’ve all gone up. In fact, 100 sets have decreased in price while only 65 have gone up. Decreases to RRPs are very welcome indeed. But some of the increases are hard to swallow.

LEGO Creator 10255 Assembly Square and LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon have both gone up by a whopping £50. That’s only an 8% increase for the Millennium Falcon, but an eye-watering 28% increase for Assembly Square. Other sets have increased in price by up to £20. Decreases, meanwhile, are most commonly by £5 or £10, but are up to £35 in some sets.

Why the change in price? Well, a statement put out by The LEGO Group in late 2021 stated the company wanted to make pricing more consistent across Europe. And so prices in different countries would be adjusted, either up or down, to make sure they were more in line with each other.

As per Brickset, here’s what the statement read:

“In Western Europe, we’ve taken steps to make RRP pricing more consistent across different countries from 2022. The RRP of the majority of LEGO sets will not change as a result of this. However, on a small selection of sets the RRP will either go down or up depending on the set and the country.

There are currently no plans to make such changes in other markets.”
