This Lego Jurassic World T. rex skull looks awesome and it won’t break the bank

Lego Jurassic World T-Rex Skull 76964

We’re still waiting on Lego Jurassic World Shirtless Jeff Goldblum but this new T. rex skull set is still pretty fantastic and we’re surprised at just how affordable it is.

Priced at £34.99, the Lego Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: T. rex Skull (76964) features the franchises’ lawyer-eating dinosaur doing.. well, not much really, since it’s dead. But you can display its skull, alongside one of the beast’s preserved footprints.

The set is made up of 577 pieces and is suitable for builders age 9 or over. It comes with its own ‘fact’ plaque. Why the quotation marks? Because even though this was a real-life beast, this being a Jurassic World set it’s based on the creature’s movie appearances.

So its weight, speed, habitat are taken from those films. We’d like to see an an alternate plaque, perhaps mentioning which period the Tyrannosaurus Rex hailed from. It’s the Late Cretaceous, in case you were wondering. But hey, “Jurassic and also Late Cretaceous World” wouldn’t have scanned as well.

The set arrives on the Lego Store this January 1st. And we’d expect it to hit stores roughly the same time. And if natural history is your think, check out this amazing (but pricier) Lego Natural History Museum.

After relegating my Lego to the loft, many years ago, I've regained my interest in these plastics bricks, partly because today's sets seem so, so much cooler than when I was a kid. Though I'm still reluctant to spend three figures on a single set.
