Lego unveils four Chinese New Year sets including Spring Festival Mickey Mouse

Lego Auspicious Dragon 80112

Lego has revealed its four new new Chinese New Year Sets, which includes an appropriately dressed Brick Headz Mickey Mouse.

These sets range in price and complexity and while they’re all eye-catching, if we had to choose a favourite it’d be the absolutely gorgeous Auspicious Dragon set, made up of just over 1000 pieces.

These Lego sets will all be available from January 1st 2024, well in time for time for Chinese New Year, February 10th 2024. Usually, Lego launches them between then and Boxing Day. There’s currently no pre-order so you’ll have to wait till then. Here’s every set that’s on offer.

Lego 80112 Auspicious Dragon

  • RRP £69.99
  • 1171 pieces
  • Age 10+

This is one hell of an impressive piece, with the dragon clutching a blue crystal in its hand. Its jaw can be opened and closed though it’s not clear how poseable the rest of it is. Honestly, we’d just build this and stare at it in awe.

Lego 40678 Festival Calendar

  • RRP £26.99
  • 345 pieces
  • Age 10+

This calendar isn’t just cool to look at, it’s functional enough that you can update it day-to-day as a regular calendar. Us? We’d set it maybe twice then completely forget.

Lego 80113 Family Reunion

  • RRP £89.99
  • 1812 pieces
  • Age 8+

We normally have mixed feelings about sets with open backs but it’s pretty cool that you can turn this around and see the thirteen included minifigures cooking, chin-wagging and catching up on old times.

Lego 40673 Brick Heads Spring Festival Mickey Mouse

  • RRP £9.99
  • 120 pieces
  • Age 10+

Mickey’s dressed up for Chinese New Year and it’s a nice enough figure. But we still prefer Lion Dance Guy.
