LEGO Unveils the Brick-Built Adidas Originals Superstar Shoe

LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar

Teased over the weekend, LEGO has lifted the lid on the brick-built trainer it’s making in conjunction with Adidas and… well, it’s pretty ugly.

The 731-piece set is instantly recognisable as a classic Adidas trainer, mind. There’s a clamshell design on the toe, the famous three stripes down the side, and an adidas logo on the tongue. There’s even an Adidas label inside, and a real shoelace running through. It’s about the size of a real adult’s trainer, and comes with a display perch and UCS-style informational plaque.

We just can’t imagine having this in our collection though, because, well, it’s a trainer. We guess that some people are huge trainer/sneaker fans and so this might make a cool piece for them but… there’s something about the blockiness here that doesn’t look right to us.

There are some nifty features, though, like the fact it comes in an actual Adidas shoebox, rather than a typical LEGO box. But it costs £79.99, which to us seems very steep for a 731-piece set.

It’ll be available from 1st July. You can find out more information about it on the official LEGO store page.

What do you think of the newly-revealed trainer? Is this something you’ll want in your collection? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
