Hold onto your wallets and weep, LEGO Star Wars fans. LEGO has just announced the latest Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. However: it’s the most expensive LEGO set ever made. When it releases on 26th November, it’s going to set you back £749.99. We want it, but our bank balances are protesting heavily.

The new Ultimate Collector Series set is LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT, a giant version of the All-Terrain Armored Transport vehicle made popular in The Empire Strikes Back. We’ve had several LEGO versions of it so far. There’s a current 1,267 piece version that retails for £139.99, we’ve had tiny polybag versions, and even a motorised version that walks. But this upcoming UCS version, with a piece count of 6,785 dwarfs all of them.

As you’d expect, it’s a huge set, measuring 62cm in height and 69cm in length. In comparison, the £140 version measures 34cm by 38cm. It opens up to reveal a full interior – with enough space to fit an army of 40 Snowtrooper minifigures inside. Sadly, it doesn’t come with the 40 minifigs you’d need to do that, however. It includes nine minifigures, which are as follows:

  • General Veers
  • Luke Skywalker
  • Snowtrooper Commander
  • 4x Snowtroopers
  • 2x AT-AT Drivers

The AT-AT itself can be posed in a variety of ways; its head moves and it has poseable joints on each of its legs. There are plenty of interactive features, too: rotating cannons, a bomb-drop hatch, and a hook where Luke Skywalker’s line can be attached. It also comes with two speeder bikes and a repeating blaster. For £749.99, this obviously isn’t a playset, but it’s nice that so many little touches have been included.

So: if you happen to have the cash, LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT will be available exclusively from LEGO.com and LEGO stores from 26th November. It’s going to make a fine collector’s item, that’s for sure.
