A 4,514-Piece LEGO Castle Lands in August
Finally: the set LEGO fans have been waiting for.
LEGO fans have been waiting for a new castle for what feels like years. Sure, we’ve had smaller ones, like last year’s 3-in-1 Medieval Castle. But nothing has captured the magic and grandeur of a massive, fully-featured medieval-style castle. Until now. As part of LEGO CON which streamed yesterday, LEGO 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle has been revealed. All 4,514 pieces of it.
Inspired by the LEGO Castle theme from the 1980s, the Lion Knights’ Castle is the ultimate tribute to classic LEGO. Clearly, this is aimed at those of us who grew up with LEGO in our homes, wanting to capture the magic of those early sets, but with all the detail and splendour of a modern build.
Here are just some of the details you can expect to find in LEGO Icons 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle:
- A drawbridge and portcullis that can be raised and lowered
- Hidden passages
- A waterwheel that turns
- A fully-stocked armoury
- Dungeon trapdoor
There’s also 22 minifigures included, featuring a queen, knights, archers, wizard and forest people. Essentially, everything you need to bring your own brickish Medieval fantasies to life. A recreation of Game of Thrones, anyone?
The castle can be displayed open or closed, with a full interior being visible when open. When it’s closed, the Castle measures 14 x 17 x 12 inches.
Of course, a set this big comes with a hefty price tag. Lion Knights’ Castle will cost £344.99/$399.99. But you’re getting a lot of LEGO for that price. And this is a truly iconic build that fans have been waiting for a long time.
It’s going to be exclusive to LEGO stores when it launches on 8th August. VIP members get five days’ early access from 3rd August. More information about the set is available on LEGO’s website.
