It’s only a few months since LEGO’s last roller coaster retired. That was LEGO 10261 Roller Coaster, and you can read our review of it here. That was one impressive set, and was particularly a big hit with our young nephew every time he came to visit! But now, a new LEGO roller coaster is going to take its place. It’s not as many pieces, but it’s way more impressive.
How so? Well, LEGO Icons 10303 Loop Coaster is 36 inches (92cm) tall, and like its name suggests, it features not just one but two loop-de-loops. Yep, a LEGO set that defies gravity. And we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Watch the LEGO Loop Coaster in action in the video below:
Just look at it! You’re going to need a lot of display space to show this one off, but if you have a big enough home, it’s bound to be a hit with any visitor, young or old. The yellow and blue colour scheme is stunning, and we think it’s much more eye-catching than the last roller coaster.
An 18+ set, the Loop Coaster is made up of 3,756 pieces, roughly 400 pieces less than the last coaster. Along with being 92cm tall, it’s 85cm wide and 34cm deep. Roughly the size of your average coffee table, then!
The coaster is of course the main attraction. A lift (powered with a crank, though Powered Up functionality can be added) carries the carts up to the top of the ramp, before a free-fall drop leads into a double loop. Talk about white knuckle!
The set is decorated with a park map, a bench, carts selling balloons and pretzels, a hot-dog stand and a boarding station. Pretty much everything a theme park needs, then. It comes with 11 minifigures: enough to man the stands and ride the coaster.
Here’s the important part: the price. As you’ve probably already guessed, LEGO Icons 10303 Loop Coaster isn’t cheap. It’s going to retail for £344.99/$399.99. It’s a LEGO Store exclusive, and it’ll be available from 1st July.
