A Whopping 21 LEGO City Sets are Landing on 1st January 2022

Phew. If you’re a LEGO City collector, or have children who are fans of LEGO City sets, January 2022 is going to be an expensive month. 21 new LEGO City sets are landing, adding brand new additions to the already bursting collection, and revamping some old classics.

We’ll take a look at each upcoming set in more detail. All these new LEGO City sets all be available from LEGO.com and good LEGO retailers from 1st January 2022.

LEGO 60351 Rocket Launch Center

  • £124.99
  • Age 7+
  • 1,010 pieces
  • 6 minifigures

Replacing an older LEGO City rocket set, this latest is inspired by NASA’s own Artemis rocket, adding a bit of STEM realism to play. It comes with some buildings, and plenty of accessories to make a fun space-themed playset. It is, however, the most expensive LEGO City set to be launching in January 2022. Find more information on the Rocket Launch Center on LEGO’s store page.

LEGO 60330 Hospital

  • £89.99
  • Age 7+
  • 816 pieces
  • 12 minifigures

LEGO City Hospital has had a revamp for January 2022. This fresh take on the medical centre features new road plates, an ambulance and a helicopter. The draw, though, has got to be the 12 brilliantly-designed minifigures making up the set. Click here to find out more.

LEGO 60321 Fire Brigade

  • £89.99
  • Age 7+
  • 766 pieces
  • 5 minifigures

Not to be confused with a fire station, this Fire Brigade set’s focal point is a burning building. A Sardine Factory to be precise. With the included fire engine and fire responder car, you can tackle the fire with the included water jets (not real water this time, though). It’s a nice-looking set, but honestly it feels far too expensive for what’s included. See more information on LEGO.com.

LEGO 60350 Lunar Research Base

  • £89.99
  • Age 7+
  • 786 pieces
  • 6 minifigures

As far as LEGO Space sets go, this might be one of the funkiest we’ve seen in a while. It’s expensive for what it is, at £90, but it’s a very striking-looking set all the same. Find out more at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60317 Police Chase at the Bank

  • £89.99
  • Age 7+
  • 915 pieces
  • 6 minifigures

Again, we’re not quite sure what warrants the £90 price tag of this set. We suppose that’s just the going rate for LEGO City sets in January 2022. This is a rather detailed heist, with robbers stealing from a bank complete with a truck and drone. The police are on their tail though, with their own police truck and helicopter. Find out more information at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60320 Fire Station

  • £54.99
  • Age 6+
  • 540 pieces
  • 5 minifigures

A brand new Fire Station design is coming to LEGO City, with the old now discontinued. This comes complete with a new road plate, so it can fit neatly into any modern LEGO City set up. There’s a fire truck, a helicopter, and a small fire, ready to be put out. See more information on LEGO.com.

LEGO 60316 Police Station

  • £54.99
  • Age 6+
  • 668 pieces
  • 5 minifigures

Like the Fire Station, the Police Station has had an overhaul too. This is a little smaller than previous Police Station sets, but we like the addition of the garbage disposal truck to add some versatility to play and storytelling. Visit LEGO’s official store page for more information.

LEGO 60329 School Day

  • £54.99
  • Age 6+
  • 433 pieces
  • 7 minifigures

We haven’t had many LEGO schools, and so this feels like a new and exciting addition to LEGO City. This one also comes built around a new road plate, and features an iconic yellow school bus, a bus stop, and a small school building entrance. We love the range of minifigures included here, too. See more details on LEGO’s store page.

LEGO 60324 Mobile Crane

  • £34.99
  • Age 7+
  • 340 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

Here’s something a bit different: a mobile crane. With chunky wheels, a playful colour scheme and a movable crane arm that can actually pick stuff up, this will make a great addition to any LEGO City set up. Find out more about the Mobile Crane at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60315 Police Mobile Command Truck

  • £34.99
  • Age 6+
  • 436 pieces
  • 4 minifigures

The Police Mobile Command truck has seen many redesigns over the years. Honestly, this may be the weakest yet. We like the chunkier truck, but the trailer is rather simple compared to some previous sets. We’re rather intrigued about the ‘egg launcher’ mechanic though. Find out more at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60328 Beach Lifeguard Station

  • £24.99
  • Age 5+
  • 211 pieces
  • 4 minifigures

LEGO City is leaving the City behind in January 2022. This Beach Lifeguard Station feels more like a smaller Creator 3-in-1 set to us, but it’s refreshing. We particularly like the Ice Cream cart, complete with minifigure dressed in an ice-cream outfit. More information is available at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60319 Fire Rescue & Police Chase

  • £24.99
  • Age 5+
  • 295 pieces
  • 3 minifigures

Three vehicles in one: a fire truck, a police motorcycle, and a robber’s muscle car. We really like the muscle car, actually. See more at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60327 Horse Transporter

  • £24.99
  • Age 5+
  • 196 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

LEGO horses are quite rare these days, so we suspect this might be a sought-after set. A classic LEGO horse box makes a return, and there’s a nice, chunky 4×4 vehicle to tow it, too. And let’s not forget to mention that adorable doggo. Find more information at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60314 Ice Cream Truck Police Chase

  • £24.99
  • Age 5+
  • 317 pieces
  • 3 minifigures

Now this is a creative LEGO City set for January 2022. We love the crooks dressed as ice creams, and those ice-cream splat shapes are just great. It looks to us like last year’s LEGO City Ice Cream van design has been slightly repurposed here. See more details on LEGO’s store page.

LEGO 60343 Rescue Helicopter Transport

  • £24.99
  • Age 5+
  • 215 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

LEGO City 60343 Rescue Helicopter Transport features a medical response helicopter and a truck with enough room to tow it. It makes a good addition to the Hospital set, which even has a helipad on which this could land. See more on LEGO’s website.

LEGO 60325 Cement Mixer Truck

  • £17.99
  • Age 4+
  • 85 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

Here’s the first 4+ LEGO City set to be arriving in January 2022. As all 4+ sets, it’s a simplified build; the whole base of the truck is one moulded piece. It’s a great place for young newcomers to LEGO bricks to start. Click here for more information.

LEGO 60326 Picnic in the Park

  • £12.99
  • Age 5+
  • 147 pieces
  • 3 minifigures

For £12.99, we quite like this set. It will make a nice addition to any LEGO park, or to make a green area in a bustling LEGO City set up. There’s a tree, a picnic bench, a bike and a park keeper’s wagon. Not to mention some adorable squirrels. See more information at LEGO.com by clicking here.

LEGO 60318 Fire Helicopter

  • £8.99
  • Age 4+
  • 53 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

Look at the expression on that angry hot dog man’s face! That’s what happens when you burn your sausage, friend. We’re now into the pocket money-priced LEGO City sets for January 2022, and this 4+ set makes an ideal companion piece to a bigger Fire set. Find out more at LEGO.com.

LEGO 60312 Police Car

  • £8.99
  • Age 5+
  • 94 pieces
  • 1 minifigure

LEGO City 60312 Police Car isn’t wildly different from police cars that have come before it. You probably have something very similar from the last few years. But it’s chunky and sports a fun, racing design. A neat little addition to any LEGO City set up for just £8.99. Click here to find out more.

LEGO 60322 Race Car

  • £8.99
  • Age 4+
  • 46 pieces
  • 2 minifigures

Here’s a fun set for very young builders: a little Formula 1-style race car. It comes with two minifigures, which is a nice touch for a set of this size. Visit LEGO.com to find out more.

LEGO 60323 Stunt Plane

  • £8.99
  • Age 5+
  • 59 pieces
  • 1 minifigure

Last but not least is this pocket-money stunt plane, perhaps our favourite of all the cheapest LEGO City sets launching in January 2022. It’s rather eye-catching with its blue and red colour scheme. Visit LEGO.com to see more information about the Stunt Plane.
