We love these Despicable Me 4 Lego sets, landing on 1st May

Lego Despicable Me 4

Just in time for the launch of the Despicable Me 4 movie this summer, Lego is rolling out four brand new Despicable Me sets. We’ve had a brief glimpse at just two of them so far, and they look fabulous.

Neither set has appeared on the Lego store just yet, but there is an informational page all about them. Following on from an April Fool’s stunt where a 100,000 piece minion was “revealed”, Lego dropped the ruse to showcase two real, upcoming sets.

The first is Lego Despicable Me 4 Minions and Gru’s Family Mansion (75583). Made up of 868 pieces, it’s a 27x21cm model of Gru’s house. We’ve only got this one image of it so far so haven’t yet had a glimpse of its interior, but it contains “iconic architecture and beloved movie items” such as the fireplace, rocket-themed bedroom and a red couch.

We can also see it comes with a minifigure of Lucy and baby, although we’re pretty confident Gru and the girls will be included too.

It’s priced at £89.99, which seems rather expensive for what it is — but we’ll reserve full judgement until we’ve had a better look at the set.

The second set — and perhaps our favourite of the two — is Lego Despicable Me 4 Brick-Built Gru and Minions (75582). Made up of 839 pieces, it’s a brick-built Gru surrounded by four Minions. If you’re a fan, you’ll spot Mel and Kevin in there — one of whom is equipped with a fart gun.

Brick-Built Gru and Minions is 28cm high and 23cm wide, and it’ll cost £49.99 when it releases on 1st May. Considering both sets have a similar piece count, this one is priced much more reasonably. Perhaps there’s a good reason.

As for the other two Despicable Me sets? We’ll have to wait and see. Lego is yet to reveal them, but with them launching in just over three weeks, we won’t have long to wait.
