The LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block Has Been Revealed, And It’s Awesome

LEGO 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block

Remember that Super Mario tease from yesterday? LEGO has lifted the lid – quite literally – on what it was, and if you’re a Mario fan, you’re going to want to have this in your collection. As we suspected, it’s a huge Mario ‘?’ block – but inside is a detailed diorama of four worlds from Super Mario 64. Wahey!

LEGO 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block

LEGO 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block opens up in an ingenious way, and when it does, four Super Mario 64 worlds fold out, revealing a wonderful microscale diorama. The four worlds are Peach’s Castle, Bob-omb Battlefield, Cool, Cool Mountain and Lethal Lava. Instantly recognisable to anyone who’s ever played Super Mario 64, for sure.

Sadly, it’s not minifigure scale, but within the set you’ll find 10 buildable microfigures hidden within each of the environments. There’s Mario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, King Bob-omb, Chain Chomp, Big Bully, Mr. I, Lakitu, Penguin and Baby Penguin.

In terms of size, it’s pretty big. The Question Mark Block is 18cm square, expanding in width when it’s opened up to reveal the dioramas. Oh, and it’s compatible with LEGO Super Mario and Luigi from the Starter Courses. You can move them around the diorama to collect Power Stars and more.

The set will be available from 1st October – a day that is shaping up to look rather expensive – and is priced at £159.99. Unsurprisingly, this one will be exclusive to LEGO stores and LEGO.com.
