The Upcoming LEGO Pac-Man Arcade is an Absolute Must For Gamers

Lego 10323 Pac-Man Arcade

We’re weeping a little as we think of all the excellent LEGO sets coming out in June. There’s the Up-scaled Minifigure, the huge Ninjago City Markets, the Disney Animation Icons set, and about a 100 more we haven’t even written about yet. The latest to appear on LEGO’s website might be the most exciting yet, though: it’s a Pac-Man Arcade. And we simply love it.

If you’ve followed us here for a while, you know that gaming is our second life source alongside LEGO (our primary job is running That Brick Site’s sister site, GameSpew). And so when our two worlds collide – as they do more and more often these days – it always fills us with glee. LEGO Icons 10323 Pac-Man Arcade celebrates the 43rd anniversary of Bandai Namco’s iconic arcade game. And while this isn’t a fully-fledged working arcade cabinet, it looks the part and has enough moving parts to make it just as enticing as the real thing.

LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Details and Features

This is a half-cabinet, standing 32cm high and measuring 25cm wide. It’s the perfect tabletop size, then. And while it doesn’t have full electronics, it has a light-up coin slot, a joystick that can move and a mechanised maze that simulates the movement of Pac-Man collecting those yummy, yummy dots.

The back of the arcade cabinet opens up, revealing a wealth of “mechanics” in the back. It’s a super cool touch, and anyone that’s tinkered with retro electronics will surely get a kick out of it. There’s also a little easter egg hidden in there, too: a minifigure and a minifig-scale arcade cabinet.

LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Price and Release Date

Here comes the important part: LEGO Pac-Man Arcade will cost £229.99. It’s a little on the pricey side, then, but considering it’s made up of 2,651 pieces, it’s reasonable. Regardless, it’s clearly going to be a sought-after set for many collectors – and no doubt it’ll also appeal to those perhaps new to LEGO but with a fondness for Pac-Man. Undoubtedly LEGO’s more recent foray into gaming with its Nintendo and Sonic sets has introduced new people to the joy of the brick.

LEGO Icons 10323 Pac-Man Arcade is only a few days away: it’s releasing on 1st June. It’ll be exclusive to LEGO, so you’ll only be able to get it from the LEGO website or from a LEGO retail store. (There goes your hopes of finding a good discount…).
